Some tackle and bait manufacturers have yet to drag themselves into the 21st century and have a website built that can show off their products. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an e-commerce site from which purchases can be made – although that is always a good idea for retailers – but just a showroom on the web.

It would amaze you (or maybe not) that there are still some who are fighting against a web presence, either believing the web is not suitable for the purpose or just having their head in the clouds and believing they’re big enough to do without it.

I’m afraid that sooner or later they’re in for a rude awakening, for each and every day sees an increasing number of people either purchasing directly off the web, or using the web to research purchases. You have only to browse through the FISHINGmagic Forum to see just how many of our members use the web in this way.

Korda Developments are not one of the dinosaurs, their forward thinking tackle projects, designs and business model speak volumes, and they’ve had a website for some time. Now they’ve launched a new site that’s modern, clean, easy to navigate and does justice to the quality of their products.

The site has news, articles, competitions and, of course, information about all Korda products, with some nifty slide show presentations that help you to understand what some things are for and how they work. And, a big plus for me, was that it doesn’t have any of those annoying animated gifs of swimming fish and floating bubbles that just get on your nerves after the first ten seconds.

The site is not yet complete, in fact Korda Managing Director Danny Fairbrass says, “It (the site) never will be. Our aim is to keep it evolving on almost a daily basis.”
