Round 7 – Retallick Canal
Most local reports of pleasure catches put Retallick Canal in thebag-up section. But put 36 anglers on this 45 pegs stretch and youget a different tale.
The day started badly for the leading team, The Silver Ball, whenone of their team failed to turn up.
“A” section was secured for the host team Retallick Rebels by PeteCash. Pete won the section with a mixed bag of fish for 2lb 6oz. “B”section turned out to be a real nightmare for its 12 anglers. Twoguys did not weigh, the weigh master knew the weights were bad andwas calling all weights as fair as possible. I weighed one fish for1oz. Don’t laugh, the guy one peg up from me weighed two fish forhalf an ounce!
Mike Yates (Clive’s Tackle) caught 26 fish for 9oz. The sectionwas won by Chris White of Phoenix B with a massive 12oz. GrahamCurnow (Clives Tackle) secured “C” section with a late bonus Carp, which gave him a final weight of 5lb 7oz. Top Team on the day wasClive’s Tackle with 33 points. The Phoenix Clothing backed guys didtheir sponsor proud by taking second and third spots.
The tables below show the placing going into the final match atPenrose Farm. As you will see things are really close with any of thetop 5 teams able to finish in the top three places. IndividuallyChris Baileys winning run came to an end this week, but with a9-point lead you would be a brave man to bet against him. The top 15individuals are also listed.
