In recent trade moves Rapala have announced that predator ace Mick Brown will be joining as the head consultant for the UK branch of the business and will be involved with helping to develop and promote products within ranges which include Blue Fox and Storm as well as Rapala.

The move has long been expected within the industry as Brown has been intimately involved with the Dynamite Baits’ range of pike baits since its inception and the Rapala take over of Dynamite in 2010 created a perfect synergy for the partnership. It is understood that Mick will continue to work with Dynamite Baits alongside his new role at Rapala and a range of new media activities are expected.

Normark Rapala’s UK Marketing Manager Steve Cole commented: “Mick is regarded as the top predator angler in the country and is one of the biggest names in the sport. He is familiar with the Rapala range and knows all the freshwater lures and colour patterns that are needed for this country so there is no one better to have on board. He will be concentrating on educating the British public on how to lure fish, showing how Rapala lures will help them catch more.”

Rob HughesIn another move tackle giants Fox International have strengthened their team of carp consultants with Rob Hughes; known primarily to UK carp anglers as the boss of Venture Carp, founder of the British Carp Angling Championships and, more recently, for his innovative underwater photography.

Hughes was involved with underwater photography for the 2011 Fox Carp Catalogue and will be assisting with product development as well as media work.
