Carp Angling Unity
Representatives from four major carp angling organisations met recently to discuss setting up a ‘unity’ group. The meeting was initiated by Bill Ward, Chairman of The Carp Society.
The four organisations; Specialist Anglers Alliance (SAA), The English Carp Heritage Organisation (ECHO), British Carp Study Group (BCSG) and The Carp Society represent the broad spectrum of carp angling interests ranging from political support to providing angling opportunities for the nation’s carp anglers.
All agreed that the specialist discipline of carp angling should unite in order to create a stronger political voice in the interests of angling in general and to reflect carp angling’s importance as a major contributor within the angling economy.
The representatives agreed that historic differences of opinion were now resolved and that future relationships be based upon cross organisational support and promotion.
The group will meet regularly and provide press releases highlighting the issues it intends to address.
