Catherine Furness has come out of the White Acres Ladies Festival triumphant with a twelve-point win. Her results in the three-day, 34-pegger earnt her a clean sweep and the £ 1,000 first prize. Fierce competition matched the unforgiving weather, but Catherine performed well from the outset, notching up a first day win at Twin Oaks – 17 for 68-8-0 and the top weight for the day.

Day two produced more good results, Catherine drew peg 32 and once again overcame difficult conditions to win the second section with 17-11-0. Amanda Barber’s 85-13-0 was not quite good enough to topple Catherine’s overall weight of 86-3-0. Consistent until the very end, her final draw placed her at Twin Oaks 10 where she recorded her third straight section win with 13-12-0.
Runner-up, Amanda Barber from Decoy Lakes also produced three section wins and a twelve-point maximum. Her total weight of 98-10-0, however, earning her second place and £ 500 in prize money.

Competition was tough with many competitors coming from the White Acres backed NFA England Ladies’ squad. These included Emma Pickering who came third overall with eleven points and 164-7-0. This was followed by twice Ladies’ World Champion Sandra Scotthorne who finished fourth on eleven points and 153-13-0. Next in line came Claire Dagnall (White Acres NFA England Ladies) with ten points and 128-11-0.
