Windy Miller fished Norfolk’s river Yare a few weeks ago whilst taking a family holiday on a cruiser and had a great time with the pike.

Windy and his 26.12 pike from the Yare
Windy caught his first ever 20-pounder just last year after 40 years of trying, so he was well chuffed when he had three over twenty, to a best fish of 26lb 12oz, in the one week.

Windy commented, “The fish in the photograph was the quickest fish I ever caught. Daybreak was just starting so my first cast was just a gentle lob into the river. The float immediately disappeared so I thought it was caught on something and was tugging at it to clear it from the snag only for the fish to power off into mid-stream. It was that simple. I must have dropped it right on her nose! Never had another touch that day! but who cares!”

Float-leger was the method with trout deadbait. He also caught eight other upper double-figure pike during the week.
