Over the coming close season I will in market for a rod for the coming river season. After recommendations as not bothered with a feeder rod several years, budget £120.

Preston Innovations ,
Or try Shimano X5 .
80g will give you a good long cast ,
I have a12' - 13' Shimano and I'm doing 50yards with a 30g method feeder with no problems .
I think Free Spirit do some good ones as well .

ABU Suverans pop up on auction sites for that sort of money. I have never had a carbon rod that combines strength with such sensitivity.

Here's a thought, if you're prepared to consider a used rod.
Diawa Connoisseur 11/13 Stillwater. Quality build. Lovely action. Wide span of use and lines - from skimmers and roach to bream well out, ideal on rivers despite name ( the river rods in the 11/13 series tend to be too powerful for what you describe) and just right for chub, which don't often live where you need more that 1.5 oz.
Proven long life - like many, I've had one for donkeys' years and it's still like new. Very flexible application, thanks to sweet action, and loads of tips available as Daiwa tips were common across rods for decades.
For £80 or so you can get a rod way better than most modern offerings.

I have a Shimano Speedcast 90g in 12' - 13' it's possible to get one on the selling sites . As Kev says the Daiwa is a great rod .
If you want new have a look at the Shimano X5 series I think there is a 12' -13' in that .
