Need a Longer Spinning Rod? Heres Okuma's 13ft HCS Menpachi Rod!

The Hawaiian Custom Series of Rods "Menpachi" line came out 6yr ago. I got to field test them with flying colors. Also showed the first releases at the Izuo Brothers Expo in Honolulu, HI. In this video i'll also show the 12ft & 14ft HCS prototypes as well. They were all in storage for years after field testing. The reason i dug them out was a few viewers were asking about them and it seems i was the only one doing any work on them.

So what attributes do these longer rods have? 1) The split butt design helps to reduce weight. 2) Uses ALPS-316 SS Guide Frames. 3) Inserts are zirconium for braid & monofilament usage. 4) Fore & rear TPE foam grips. 5) Rods feature a metallic woven material for customized looks. 6) All rods carry Okuma's 1yr Limited Warranty.

My Review Was on The 13ft HWN-S-1302MHA- Foregrip is 4in. Rec Line is 8-20lb. Rec Lure Weight is 1/2-2oz. Guides? 12 @world.boxing1.470 + 1. Comes in 2pc. Length is 13'0". Weight is 11.6oz. Reargrip Length is 18-1/2in Foregrip Length is 4in. Rod Power is Med/Hvy. Rod Taper is M/MF.

These rods are also popular in CA & OR for Sea Perch & Halibut shoreline anglers.

Blimey you got me all excited there with the mention of a thirteen foot rod.

I conjured up nostalgic images of someone running an Avon through the Wensum below a length of cane or easing a stick float down the Trent under an early incarnation of carbon.

Ah well...

Every bubble meets its pin.
