Been up again this afternoon, chap had a 9lb 2oz Tench out 7.20am today and yesterday had a bigger one that he didn't weigh, (long story)

Fish do not appear to be spawning. 6lb Bream out just as I was leaving, no signs of spawning at all.

If you get your wish with the weather they will spawn
why do we want to know about tench and bream in a carp match ?
tell us about the carp and get us excited :wh

What are the match winning criteria as a matter of interest ?
Most carp, heaviest bag of carp overall or heaviest single carp ?
Or do we just fill the trophy with porridge and save time by handing it to Cakey directly.... :wh

It's not often I complain about self-employment, but this time fate has stepped in to knacker my planned weekend at this event. I'll be suffering the hardship of photographing brown trout being caught in a Dorset chalkstream, but I genuinely would rather have been at Snetterton. Apologies in particular to Richard and Pete J.

Shame.
Hope you get a chance to wet a line in said chalkstream yourself by way of some compensation ?
Must confess, I don't regret leaving the treadmill of self employment the least little bit.
Trust you will be well paid at least, you certainly take a quality photograph.

Its a pity you cannot make it Mark, I was looking forward to meeting you after all this time on FM, still maybe you will make to to GM's 'retirement' Fish-In? I hope so as it looks like being the event of the decade.

Forecast is for wind to be ESE then SE. Don't like Easterly winds,

Mind you a couple of real 'big lumps' moving late afternoon.

Iv`e just spent the last hour or so checking in gear into the van , gas , baits , sleeping bags , barrow ect ect , not fishing gear as such , as I don`t like to leave that sort of gear in the van overnight , I now remember why I don`t do many long sessions anymore:D .

OK folks been busy this pm.

Peter Jacobs is in and was setting up as I left. He bid for the 48hrs ticket that Les put back in the auction as he couldn't use it. The swim next to him can you please reserve for Cakey, as he has campervan, Sandra and Keona, plus he is old and knackered. Just as well he isn't a race horse.

The porta potti is in situ as is the gazebo.

BBQ being delievered tomorrow.

See you around lunchtime tomorrow

For fit youngsters the caravan swim a double where 3 carp came out at the first fish in is looking good. Also the lonely and steps next to the double caravan swim.

Oh could do with a windbreak if anyone has one, to put in front of the porta porti, mine is falling apart.
