Hi there, would like to get involved in some amatuer matches around the taunton area. Have never fished matches before, but feel after years of fishing im ready to try my luck. Thanke

I haven't match fished for years but I did find it very helpful to start off match fishing small club matches, via my local club.
Taunton AA would be a good place to start, I'd guess. That and your local tackle dealers. Stdart with the club matches and then move up to Opens when ready.
I used to fish club matches of maybe 12 - 15 guys and I learned so much, had tone of laughs and even looked forward to preparing bloodworm, jokers and caster for maybe 2oz of roach and gudgeon in mid December. Get up at 3am on a Sunday morning in December now? Not unless Santa's just brought me a new Land Rover!!
