Ahhhhh the tinca tinca

Now that is a beutiful fish (my favorite by the way)! :)

I believe that Tench in rivers is good in fact tench in any water (except sea obviously) is good but thats just my opinion & being a "fan" of the Tench i suppose it is slightly biased.

I actually caught one out of the sow about 3lb, very dark fish fought like mad. Well surprised when i saw it was a tench, but i have never heard of any coming out of rivers before!

The town park has a couple of huge roach shoals drifting about-upwards of two hundred fish upto abot a pound or so. Loads of chub all the way thru, good uns too, especially by the road bridge at Riverside recreation centre.
Once we have had a couple of frosts, i will be chasing those chub myself....

Hey Steve if you work at tesco's you'll know my ex step dad (fat git called Ray P):)

I won't mention the fact i was looking in the Sow opposite tesco's last thursday n just happend to see some big & i do mean BIG chub :)

I hope you will both agree (Steve & Dave) that the Sow was what most anglers would call a "dead" river untill the EA came into being & did some amazing work (including restocking) now the Sow is one (in my opinion) of the best rivers around.

Do you ever fish the marshes?
Now theres a decent roach n big bream venue.

You've both got my E-mail address so mail me n we'll sort out a day to meet up n fish i might even see about getting us permission to fish one certain hotspot on the river with some very big river carp (& the chance of a barbus)

Yes I fish the marshes-and I issue the Day tickets on behalf of the W Trust.
As you say Alan-big chub everywhere on that river-apart from the stretch Sedge fishes....(Hi Sedge....)

we could have a mini fish in on there as Paul Kendall and Kevan have expressed an intrest.....

THATS IT Dave

thats where i know you from
I'm always up the marshes mate love the place (haven't fished it for ages though:()
I've even given people (what i assume is) your number so they can get a licence to fish the marshes (one of them was from eccleshall/loggerheads area)
Well thats then mate you'll be having a call from me soon for a couple of licences for the Wife n me (maybe another two or three others as well) :)

Caught a gang of lads up there a couple of weeks ago n scared the brown stuff out of em by flashing my SACG membership card n asking what the hell they were doing (not my fault if they thought i was a bailiff)

They had a line stretched right across by the bird hide with trebles all the way along it & bacon hanging down they all ran off for some unknown reason so i got the line n cut it into very small pieces & binned the lot on my way home.

I had two cracking chub off the bend by the hide Alan a couple of weeks ago. On freelined lobworm, the biggest of the two was 4lb 10oz and put up a spirited fight on4lb line. The other fish was just over 4 but hollow if you know what I mean.

So now you know..........
