Probably....confused is my default setting. Both types are good...the Exceed better for smaller hooks perhaps ?

Exceed come in two sizes. The smaller version is of little use on hooks larger than 16 or anything with a large eye. The larger version is fine on hooks up to around size 12, provided ir doesn't have a particularly large eye. I tend to use forceps when fishing with bigger hooks anyway.

Wasn't "Slammo" one of the Bash Street Kids ?

I've delivered plenty of comics, but never read them. The only comic I ever read featured Biffa, but no Slammo.;)

I've probably got the smaller one then...it certainly lives in my "winkling" box so there's a certain logic to that.

I carry forceps but don't often seem to use them even when zandering. Maybe I enjoy the thrill of poking my fingers into a zander's mouth and getting them shredded ? Whoever said zander have "needle sharp" teeth wasn't bloody kidding ! The worst you get off anything else is a nasty suck.

Think you're confused with Zammo from Grange hill.

Very likely....personally I don't think I look anything like him .

The disgorger I had stolen was a ringers, best for me with large eye hooks.
I use exceed for what I call proper fishing.
I've said on numerous occasions that I have every item of tackle I have ever bought, less of course any small items I have foolishly lost.
It really peeves me that through my generosity some toe rag thieved a piece of tackle I bought. I shall watch for the perp and I'm sure our paths will cross.

There's been a few posts that said to give a disgorger to aid safety of fish.
Surely if a bloke can support his fishing, drive a decent car a black Nissan that I see occasionally (at the same fishery) then he can afford a quid for his own disgorger. I would gladly give a disgorger to a kid but a grown man should buy his own.
If a angler walks up to your peg and steals an item of tackle from your table I can make a good guess at your reaction. I loaned the disgorger and it was stolen, the same as taking it off my table.
It will not happen again, ever.

I think your right, you didn't give it to the plonker you loaned it, he should have come over and given it back before he left. How come you never went and got it back before he fired off?
If you see him again get it back and tell him he's camel toe!
Also, mr camel toe hasn't got one of his own i'd tell him he can't fish and fire him off. I'm sure the club would appreciate you doing that. Infact it might be worth ringing the club secretary or bailiff and asking him if it's ok to fire someone off who has every chance of damaging the clubs fish.

Sam, try long nosed pliers, they're far better than forceps...seriously. You can get them in various sizes to suite your needs. I mainly use them for piking but they're good for smaller hooks also as unlike forceps they don't keep slipping off the hook and you have a much more solid purchase of the hook.

Mobility issues prevent me from walking unaided, I trusted him to return my property.
As for policing other anglers that is not a job for me, I promise I will risk walking when I come across him again.

So I went up to Aston Springs yesterday to see the bailiff after we had made an arrangement.
When I got there I spotted the car that belonged to the bloke that took my disgorger. I eventually got to his peg and had a word.
I asked him if he remembered me, he wasn't sure. I told him where I fished and he sat in the next peg, I told him what he caught and he said yes I remember.
I then said give me my disgorger back.
His reply was "I don't know what you are talking about.
After a few words we parted, the bloke obviously has no scruples.
Lesson learned.

Dude it's just a discorger.

Reminds me when kids used to fish rivers back in the day and i'd end up giving them things like discorgers, hooks and floats that were a lot smaller than the sea gear they seemed to be using. No harm in a bit of charity now and then.

The guy sounds like a real sad case. Uncomfortable to be associated with him as a fellow fisherman but no reflection on yourself nor any others of us. Personally i'm quite happy giving away bits and pieces to kids and newbies, but this seems to be one filed under a$$holes and weirdos, then forgotten.

I'm afraid it's not just a disgorger it was my disgorger.
When someone asks me to unhook them a fish and I say I'll lend you this, give it me back then I expect it back.
If a bloke can afford to fish and drive a car then he should have his own disgorger, it only cost a quid but that's not the point.
His action was no different to taking it from my side table.

As an old match angler I keep literally dozens of disgorgers in my bags and boxes.

When fishing I have one on a cord around my neck and another behind my left ear plus one or two more on my side trays,

I can guarantee that every outing I end up "donating" at least one of them to the venue for some lucky angler to find at a later date.

I will always give small items of terminal tackle to youngsters if they are in need or difficulties. Typically I find it is a handful of bait that they need, together with a little lesson on shotting and depth fining . . . . .

I would give small items to kids with no provisions, gladly.
But I draw the line at adult scroungers. I told him it was a loan and as such it should have been returned not stolen.
I'm surprised that so many have said they carry disgorgers to hand over ad hoc to folk that can obviously afford their own. Some have said in order to keep fish safe it's acceptable. I am only concerned with the fish I catch, in future a bloke can cut his hook out with a knife if he can't be bothered to buy the necessary.
If people were to read earlier in this thread, the bloke who has my disgorger admitted his mate normally unhooks his fish. That's why he doesn't carry one.
The bloke is a scrounger with no scruples.

I took the dog for a walk the other day around a local country park lake which also used to be one of my club waters.

I stopped to read the list of rules on the notice board and one of them was that you must have a disgorger.

Seems like second nature and common sense to me but it's the first time I'd seen it written in the rules for anywhere so I guess it must be a fairly common problem?

To add insult to injury theres one of the best stocked tackle shop on site.
Tell him to go see alex if ever theres a next time-- the guys on there have a way with nicknames , some crackers, wont embarress anyone by naming but refering to him as "nick gorger" will soon stick and embarress him enough not to try it again.:wh

Was it a commercial fishery?
Some owners care and others are happy to just take the money.
If it's the former then contact them.
You shouldn't have to put up with this.

Alex owns Aston Park, the only fishery I use is Aston Springs.
Both fisheries have tackle available and you're right. A P has a far better stocked shop, with A S only having a few odds and sods in the café.
Aston Springs in my opinion is a far better fishery, of course Aston Park is easier to fish but I enjoy Aston Park a lot more.
Another plus for Springs is there are no idiotic rules, it's a well managed fishery with a more relaxed rule ethos, more to do with the angler than money.
Of course this is only my opinion. It's where I spend most of my time on the bank simply because of the way it's run. I can only think of one more fishery in the area with a similar rules system.
The strictest rule at A S is that every angler has to be in possession of a landing net. Another rule that should go without saying.
