have you tried fishing the Blackwater estuary behind the power station?
It's clean ground and stuffed full of whiting at some times of the year, I've had 40+ a session many times. They go back as they tend to be small, but fish none the less.
I know that this time of year it's quiet but I'm going down Sat night (21st)and I'll be trying out this new artificial bait and hope to catch a few dabs.
