Hi guys

Anyone live around Hayling Island or fished there? I'm going down for 6 days at the back end of August and would appreciate any pointers (beach only). Does anyone know what sort of bottom, species or baits etc. I'll be camping right next to Langstone Harbour Creek and about 5 minutes walk from the beach I am told. Any marks in the area worth a visit that you can let me know of?
Thanks.

www.total-fishing.com go to the sea angling bit and ask for H.A, he has fished hayling for the last 30+ years.
ive never had a lot of luck on hayling but at the moment its mackeral, bass, pout, bream. the bottom ranges from mud flats to sand and shingle depending on where you try. 4/5oz weights is normal but if you try the "run" near the ferry boat inn you might need 6oz gripers and still struggle to hold.

you could try selsey for smouthhounds as its just down the road from hayling.
