The reason why the boxes with the foam disks are best is you can store longers lengths for waggler fishing with no kinks.

I might be wrong because I"ve not seen one in the flesh, but the only problem I can see with the MAP one, is that longer lengths need to be wrapped around the narrow pins - doesn't that create a kink in the line? I tried this out yesterday, using a £7.00 6" Drennan hook box, wrapping a long hook length a few times around the pins, and the line was kinked after just one night.

The Preston one has rounded ends of about 1cm diameter, so the 12" and 15" lengths have no kink. I bought that one.

Not sure on the length of the MAP one.
I had the original PI long one for 12" hooklengths and a couple of the original PI 6" hooklength boxes ,At the time I had a lot PI ready made hooklengths . Came to put them in and found they were a shade to long, ended up putting loom bands along both sets of pegs .
Ended up giving them a mate and bought guru ones , they are spot on .

Trouble with going for one big box with loads in is if you drop it in the drink then it’s bye bye to all your hooklengths. Also a bit cumbersome.

Several smaller boxes spread the risk.
