I can't see where a well done would come into it, I'm sure everyone alters things so they can cope.
The alternative is to not fish how I like, then I would just pack it in.

I have no claim to anything innovative, what I do to manage is nothing more than adaptations. I just use things to hold my hook whilst its baited.
