Would one of you who own this JRC Stealth chair be so kind as to let me know how high the seat is once fully extended?
I too am in search of a lightweight chair for roving/distant swims where the Korum set-up is not appropriate. I need a chair that will elevate my rear end at least 42 cm from the ground.
It falls a bit short I'm afraid, with the legs fully extended the horizontal tube is around 38cm off the ground but factor in the sag when you sit in it and you're probably nearer 35cm.
There are a few adverse comments on A****n and one comment states the true weight of the chair is 4.5 kilos and not 3!
Back to the drawing board!
Mike...
I've just weighed my chair on two different scales which I know to be accurate and it came to bang on 7lb with both so nowhere near 4.5kg.
Sorry, I missed you earlier question from yesterday about the accessories but Skip's covered it.
Ultimate do an I-Range of universal accessories which includes all sorts of useful things from a feeder arm to side tray, I had quite a few of them at one time and the only one I didn't rate was the side tray as it suffered from the notorious sag.
I bought mine from Climax, Chesterfield who stocked a full range back at the time.
They have a few different length and useful bar types though and I regularly use the one below as a butt rest for the rod as I can position it anywhere along the frame where it's located, in order to help get the tip down to the water surface.
All their accessories use the same clamp which comes with and additional rubber collar to take up any slack on thinner frames, I keep the clamp on all the time and just swing it around when not in use and add the attachment whenever I need it...
This is the simple locking mechanism, it's a pull out knob with a spring loaded pin...
I have to say that, considering my record for quickly wrecking chairs, I had serious concerns about buying anything so light and it has gone the longest period of time without failure out of all of them and is showing no signs of any problems at all, I find it comfortable too even if I do occasionally prop the back up slightly by putting a brolly peg under where the back frame meets the lower frame.
