Firstly Thanks to Peter Jacobs for organising the day. Shame you couldn't make it mate...
Thanks Neil for showing us to the upper beat, which as you predicted, was where the grayling were located..
Big thanks to my chauffeur Jerry of course.. and top angling.
Fantastic effort from It'sfihingnotcatching Ian to be on the bank at 7:50 am from the Midlands..
Frothy (stick in the mud) and of course Windy, hope you all enjoyed a challenging day out, I certainly did....

Seems like everyone enjoyed the day on the Itchen, and that makes it all worth while.

I think I'll be home by December 14th and then I'm off until January 7th, so plenty of time for me to get a day or two on the river bank.

Let me know if there is interest in another day then, in fact I'll make a new thread for that now.

A big thank you to Peter for organizing and Neil for providing some local knowledge on what was a most enjoyable outing.

Great to meet up with Frothy and also the familiar faces again, I thought that Ian would have a smile on his face, not sure if it was for the impending birth of his grandsprog or as the Baggies only lost 2-0 - also time for a quick afternoon chat with Windy as he nipped in to sign the visitors book;)

I reckon Ian should count his blessings, if I'd have been there that 2-0 would have been re-lived, ad nauseum LOL

Go you GUNNERS!!!!

Will we see king Thierry in an Arsenal kit again?

I blooming well hope so . . . . . .

If it's not our dodgy goalkeeper it's a dodgy ref! You Gooners ought to win the league the luck you get! Anyway Jerry's too much of a gentleman to resort to that sort of thing PJ (and what goes around genarally comes around)

Thanks for arranging this again Peter and good to meet up with a few more of you. Finally broke the Grayling duck (all 4" of it :eek:mg:) and had some Chub so not to bad. Allegedly met Windy (just :D) but I reckon it was an imposter as this chap brought some blue sky with him. Love to catch some 'proper' grayling next time but depends on finances as £50 in petrol makes it a slightly expensive day.

Good to hear you all enjoyed your day.

If anyone's interested in going again send me a pm and I be glad to give you an update of how it's fishing.

I was not surprised you didn't catch lots of Grayling, it seems to be a 'down' year for them this year along the whole stretch, but that's fishing isn't it?
