When I first moved to France 7 years ago I was on my own with little advice about barbel fishing from the locals. A few fished for carp but many more for the "carnassieres", the predator species. The attitude of most french anglers was disdain for the lowly barbel!
Well, that has changed immensely. The new generation of anglers here practise "No Kill" and appreciate those fish that pull hard, so the barbel now is almost as much revered here as in the UK!
This angler I have followed on a Facebook group, now he has this excellent video on YouTube. Definitely worth a watch.......
