Sanibel has a grreat pier! A 'T' shape with a strong tide run, the water is full of baitfish, big snook run right into the shoreline, there are big redfish, and they don't like you fishing shark until after 6pm. Locals fish the end with 6 foot 30-50bl class rods and 4/0 to6/0 multipliers and 8 oz leads for the reds...they fight like nothing in this country, make sure you've got a license, we saw one german turfed off the pier with his family. We asked what would have happened if his wife and kids weren't there, answer was he'd be arrested!!
