Sardines and cable ties

My mates and me consider sardines one cast wonders, they are cheap enough though I have found that correct use of bait elastic on a frozen bait should give you two casts .
However by then I would want a fresh bait anyway most of the time.

With real power casts they can still be cast off when frozen, one Midland res i used to fish called for a cast of between 60 and 80yds to reach an old river bed.......if the bed wasn't reached there were rarely pike caught.

I will give cable tie's a go .
I have a labeling gun the ones the shops use to put lables on clothes with plastic tags .
I hAve found it to be the best way possible of mounting live baits they seem to live much longer and don't come off.
Never tried it on a sardine .
