I did have a two piece 13ft compact Drennan Tench/Bream float rod (with a removable handle section) however I gave it to my son who uses it for short unplanned sessions ready made up; and I now need to get another similar rod for myself; to carry ready made up; for these short unplanned sessions; and the two piece 13ft compact Drennan Tench/Bream float rod is no longer sold by Drennan.
I am thinking about getting the wife to buy me a ‘Drennan Specialist X-Tension 13ft compact float rod’ for Xmas; but before I order it I was wondering whether anyone has used one and can tell me whether the ‘retracting telescopic butt section which allows 12” of the rod to be slid inside the handle when not in use.’ Causes any problems like undue wear and surface scratching on the blank?
