So Beecy; I take it you call yourself an angler.

No wonder angling is getting a bad name down south with people like you.

I too have never seen a match angler throw a pike up the bank

This would be a bit daft anyway as the buggers could flap about and may get back into the river, best bet is to pin there gobs shut with a size 4 and chuck em back in</blockquote>

Members like Beecy; Should be barred from the site as they are not anglers and they are not doing this site any good.

And for him to say the above on an angling form is not funny in any way.

Lark, put notices up around the lake telling people as well as the person who has done this what you have found, other anglers would then keep an eye open to deter any more damage to fish stocks, also tell them they will be named and shamed when discovered who is to blame.

Beecy is winding you all up. no self respecting match angler would have a size 4 hook in all the kit they have on their trollies.

This thread was about Bream being killed, the suspected culptrits are carp anglers.

But as ever, rather than just condem the people doing this, we get attacks on other people, in this case match anglers. its allways the same, whenever any fish welfare matter crops up we get people having a dig at match fishing, dead fish after the wiegh in - pike up the bank - barbel in keep nets blah blah blah

So the thread was getting silly, thats why i put a silly comment on

Jimmy,

i have never harned a pike, or any other fish for that matter. But answer me this, have you ever harmed a roach ?

And if the answer is no, then id say its fair to bet you know people who have, probably members of your own association. Should they therefore be banned from that association ?

Hundreds, if not thousands, of roach are killed every year to help people catch pike. So you are killing one fish to help catch another right ?

So when you look at it like that it would only be the same scenario in reverse if you were to kill a pike to help you catch more roach

Ps; Beecy; I,ve NEVER killed any species of fish (course, game or sea) Fish to catch another fish.

If you are ever up this way, Email me and I,ll take you fishing and show you just how we in the PAAS do it.

Jimmy.

fair do's Jimmy

Ive no problem with live/dead baiting by the way, not something id do myself, but if someone wants to do it then thats there choice and nothing wrong with it

its allways a dodgy debate when you start ranking one creatures life/value against another, no-ones ever right or wrong, people just pitch themselves at the level that suits there own interests/morals

this weekend i have killed about four thousand maggots, fifty worms, a couple of beetles, a waspand a pheasant ( pheasant was an accident though, ran under the car), no doubt there will be people who would say i had no right to kill any of those

Beecy; I do understand what you,re saying mate.

But my self, I don,t like any one using live baits as I see it as cruelty to animals. And that was part of why Scotland stopped live fishing.
