Are there rods that can be purchased these days with a screw in thread on the tip ring ? My ageing John Wilson twin tip Avon that has has a screw in thread on one of the top sections, the cork handle is starting to go a little. Some of the swims I fish on a lake, there is only room really having the rod facing forwards using a swing tip, rather than using the quiver with the rod being ‘horizontal’ to the bank. Or, is it a case of having to change the tip ring yourself, or even a specialist build.
