My Multi-Purpose Surf Casting, Jigging, Plugging & Float Rod!
Yup, a SST rod by Okuma (Salmon/Steelhead/Trout). Bottom line-the cost? Roughly a bengy. Currently there's a sale going on with Amazon USA on them. I've jigged the shorelines of estuary & coastal alike using it. Used surface lures 1-1/2 to 2-1/2oz. No problems on the cast or retrievals.Fought in decent fish and it feels good & properly weighted. In a nutshell it's fairly priced & looks good.
The rod is a 50/50 split. I use 5000 sized spinners with either 20lb braid or 15lb mono (20lb if i'm surf casting). To hold the rod together I use a pair of Fishing Butlers. To protect my reel from getting scratched i use a Crown Royal bag w/drawstring. These SST's are all good solid rods that are fairly priced. I think i'm up to 6pc now? Thank you for watching my channel.
