Your holiday shots, must include a river, lake or sea....or fish!

I thought this might be an idea, an excuse to put up good holiday photographs that might also give us anglers some clues on nice fishing destinations.

Sally and I are just back from Meze in France, very near the better known town of Sete on the Med. Meze has the advantage of being quite a small town but has a good harbour, restaurants and market. The Étang de Thau has very little tide and Meze has some good little beaches. Through the holiday season there is a cheap ferry to Sete several times a day. If you want shopping, or just the big town experience, Sete also has much to offer.

Sete has been famous for the spawning run of the Dourade (Gilthead bream). Not so many these days but there are still some good fish to be caught, but not by me so far! YouTube has a few videos worth a look, the first in the old days....

Hi Mike, sunshine, sea, small boats - you got to love all that! Always a pity it's such hard work finding some fish to catch, but I guess "you can't have your fish and eat it!"

I can’t certainly Steve. Fishing is not productive from the shore in my experience but when the sun shines, there is a few to enjoy , it doesn’t really matter much. The pics feature Cannes Sur Mer, the gorge de Verdun and Hyeres.

We used to visit Cyprus regularly. The first picture is of the beach at the bottom of the road our apartment was on. I used to catch sea bream from the shore using float fished bread. Once I ledgered a fish bait and caught a tiny moray eel.
