All I know is PTFE coated hooks cost a few pence more, I think they go into a fishes lip better.
I use GURU MWGs

The idea of PTFE coating was to resist hook corrosion i believe.

Anyone use the Guru Kaizen hooks, there my favourite maggot and soft pellet hook, there PTFE coated, and available in eyed and spade end versions.

It's rare I use small hooks for more than 1 session, especially if I've caught a few, so I've never seen corrosion, a fairly slow process, as an issue.
I do agree sharp and matt are desirable characteristics,

I've just been told by Daivies Angling they don't make the LWG any more, it's been replaced by Super LWG, the difference being PTFE coating.

One of the differences is that they put a near black hook in a black packet.
