We may be similarly obsessive, but I'm a bit more scattergun with my brands. I don't have a thing for green and a stylized castle logo.

Sam has just asked the one question I forgot to ask - the name of the reel!!
(I'm assuming this is 'tiggers' model we're talking about??)

You are a better man than I Gunga Din(Binka )![]()
BTW not head the term "blade Roach"..........a tiddler of a roach?
I doubt that very much Mike
That's right mate, a tiddler roach.
It's a fairly common term in these parts and one that matchman seem to be especially fond of, not sure where it originated from but it just sounds right to me as a way of describing them.
Actually, thinking back I'm wondering if Frank Barlow was the first person I heard referring to 'em as that during his latter match fishing days on the Birmingham Fazeley Canal?
Could well be wrong though, I usually am![]()
Are you sure that was a Roach Binka? I would have expected it to have red eyes and its fins to have a lot more red in them like the one in the photo below.
They look like true roach to me.Thanks Keith.
There's a good chance of hybridisation given what else is in the water and the clear hybrids which often show in warmer weather.
It's not untypical of many waters in that the fish, more noticeably perch than any other, appear very pale when the water is well coloured as it was today and then revert to their vivid colours at times of clarity.
I certainly wouldn't rule out mixed parentage though.
I will settle for 'mungrel'![]()
I think its the "decent" bit that needs explaining![]()
