To prove the earth is round an experiment is needed from a very high elevation.

You might not be able to mount a scientific investigation to your nearest mountain peak. But there is something you can do to witness the curvature of the Earth in the comfort of your own backyard, You just have to be lucky.

During a lunar eclipse, the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, allowing the Earth to cast its shadow on the moon. That shadow is always, always always a circle, no matter where you are on the planet, no matter the timing of the eclipse. Always..

The only way to always cast a circular shadow is if the thing casting the shadow — in this case, the Earth — is a globe. It’s just a matter of geometry.

And that’s not to mention the countless photographs taken of Earth by orbiting satellites and eyewitness testimonies from astronauts hailing from dozens of different countries, space programs and private organizations.

Our curved Earth also aligns perfectly with all of physics.. Additionally, all of the other planets ever discovered also appear round, because that’s how gravity likes things.

If you use gravity to, say, trust your GPS to give you accurate positions and calculate trajectories, then that same force will form material the size of the Earth into a ball.

Flat earthers are not persuaded by scientists or anything else as they just mistrust scientists and world powers. They are beyond reason.

I have to say the 13ft Acolyte Plus is much to my liking, being effectively a 13 ft 2 piece if you don't bother unscrewing the butt, which incidentally fits extremely well with no play and the join is invisible.
It's also probably the only rod I've ever bought that comes with a decent bag/carrier.

I'm guessing you mean the Acolyte Compact Plus rather than the Acolyte Plus.

Mike, everything you have mentioned I did to my m8, plus lots more and my m8 had an instant and very believable answer. As I said flat earthers have a answer for everything, quite annoying to be honest lol.

Flat earthers just believe in the flat earth theory because of mistrust. It’s like saying there is no god. Logic , common sense and reason would say emphatically that there wasn’t but that doesn’t stop millions believing the contrary. Warped logic, false and implausible beliefs are not easy to dispel. The answer is not to bother. Insanity is what it is.

Strange responses by some that think this is new gimmick, and others who think that it won't work, and someone who thinks they can set up a 3 piece rod quicker. These "compact" rods have been around for a number of years now. I have have had the series 7 version and currently have the IM9 Classic and Finesse versions for a number of years ... Certainly not a gimmick or a compromise, just good old fashioned convenience when wanting a 13ft rod. Drennan.do this kind of thing suoerbly
