Have to agree with Nick,

My angling dream would be to catch the record chub but it would have to be from a river.

Second, by a fraction, would be to break the British barbel record from the Severn 'somewhere below Worcester,' it'd make life less predictable at least!

I'd like to see the Roach record go from a place that normal anglers can fish, but it's not looking good.

The Perch record is always vulnerable at the mo cos it could come from a small stew pond or a large gravel pit or a long river.

Tench, Bream, Roach, Perch, Chub or Eel whilkst targeting the species from a natural neglected water with the fish being a perfect conditioned specimen not carrying spawn and not having seen the bank before... not much to ask really !

Any idea what a specimen perch would be?
I'd reckon anything from two pound upwards.

That's what separates you from the rest of us Andy. Your goals are much higher than most of us and your results obviously match the effort you put into achieving them.

Myself I'd just like to catch those 6 fish all in one season! ;-)

This one has had me thinking for a few days. My first thought was Chub, but then after a lot of second thoughts I decided on:

Rudd, Dace, Roach and Crucian Carp.

Like Andy, I'd want to be targeting those species at the time and have them come from a natural environment, on what I deem to be natural baits.

That said, I would then be in a real dilemma as to whether or not to publicise the fact, and certainly not the venues.

I'd like to break my own records,

This would mean:

A double figure barbel,
a 5lb chub,
a 4lb perch,
a 2lb roach,
a 30lb Common carp,
a 20lb Mirror carp,
a 4lb Crucian,
tench starting from 6lb to double figures.

Not too much then, although i do have a long time to acheive them.

*frantically touching bits of wood now!*

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what is or has been the longest standing freshwater record and what species?

Dace has got to be there or there abouts I would have thought Yoggy. Good question and one we should be able to get input from our members with a close interest in the BRFC?

Nigel,Dace is a good bet mate,i thought it would be more than likely one of the smaller species, will be interesting to find out which one exactly?.
