That'll work Les......

.......but, from my experience, I find it best to attach the maggots to a hook, line,reel and rod and then "lob" them out........

.......remembering to keep hold of the rod/forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif

Les,

I will bring the rod and reel for you, just remember to tie some string around the rod and tie to your foot, just in case mate.

How is the match split between silvers & carp?

Do you just weigh up at the end or are some nominated to go for just silvers etc.

Wendy, without giving anything away do we adopt a tactic like choose the better float anglers to use smaller baits for silver fish?

Am I taking this too seriously - BTW my speciality is blanking

Yacko,

You can go for both Carp and Silvers. Points are available for both "sections" and the total points added up at the end.

Have a look at the results table in the report on the first match last January, it might explain it a bit better:

Blanking is good (if you're a Chav!)./forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif

The day draws nearer!

I'm off on holiday next week but will return in time to sort out any last minute probelms or questions.

Meanwhile, sometime before the end of this week, I'll send everyone an email with all the necessary details for the match.

I fished Syndicate Lake last weekend for a few hours after the "silvers" and had about 25lb of Roach, Rudd, Bream and Perch (plus a superb "Crucian" of around 3lb). Also sneaked a few Carp!

Fishing quite well and will hopefully continue to do so.

Part Two

Breakfast- served from approx 07:45. However there is another match event at the venue and may therefore be a bit crowded. The Lion Brewery (where the after match results/presentation will be) do an excellent breakfast (not just for the B&B residents). It could be a very good alternate start to the day but will need booking by telephone (01252 650486)

Draw - 10:00

Fish - 11:00 till 16:00

Results and Presentation at The Lion Brewery, 104 Guildford Road, Ash, Surrey, GU12 6BT Telephone 01252 650486

Part Three

Fishery match and bait rules apply (see website)

Keepnets - Maximum of 80lb in a net(!). "Silver Fish" to be kept in a separate net. Keepnets are available at the fishery office for a small refundable deposit. We are quite happy for people to weigh as they go (if they're not keen on nets), just remember to keep a tally of the weights!

No fixed leads or feeders

No floating baits

No braid

No bread

Part Four

Optional pools of £5 per person per section (Carp &/or Silvers). Paying 1st (50%), 2nd (30%), 3rd (20%).

1st = 26

2nd = 25

3rd = 24 etc

No fish = No Points!

Part Five (final)

For the purposes of the result, in the event that one team has more members than the other, the result will be fixed (sorry adjusted).

i.e., Chavs team = 13 & Aces team = 12

Only the top 12 Chavs scores will count!

So there!
