No boilies, nuts, pulses, cat & dog food, dead or floating maggots? Barbless hooks only?

I take it that you have listed only a few of the rules above Neil. Everyonemust look at the list of fishery rules as there are quite a few (and many I would have brokenif I had just gone byNeil's list). Fishery pellets only and a maximum of 3 pints.

Finally and most importantly: Chav's must win!!/forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif

Might be able to join you on the Sunday?

Sounds like a good deal for the box. The foot rest comes into its own when pole fishing, positioned correctly, it helps to make the whole process far more comfortable and less wearing on the back. Not so important when fishing running line. Sit on the box, the legs should be adjustable (no! not yours, the box!), make sure it's comfortable. It might seem strange at first, very high, because it's very different to sitting in a chair.

We can only fish on the saturday/forum/smilies/embarassed_smiley.gif though

I think I'll get a universal foot plate to go with it, I got very short legs lol

Plan "A" is to have the whole of Syndicate lake for our match but depending on the turnout, we might only have the far bank (where you and I fished that day). Practice around there would makes sense. But why bother, you know you can catch fish from anywhere (except Todber!).

Fish the margins!

First 6.5 inches from the bank = carp to 7lb, next 4.2 inches = carp to 15lb, then go for distance at 12 inches to 2 feet out for the bream and roach (accurate casting and smooth bait runners are the key!).

I was thinking more in terms of silver Neil, I never really gave it a go on fishing for them at syndicate lake/forum/smilies/embarassed_smiley.gif...maybe I get a an elusive roach 1lb+/forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif

I managed to fish GV on Weds last, (6th Sept on the far bank of Syndicate), and hopefully will be down there tomorrow to fish the Open match on Gold Lake or for another practice on the far bank of Syndicate. Neil your tactics are spot on, I had four carp from approx 5lb to 7lb from bushes down the margin, the rest from two rod lengths out from the bank casting to "bubblers"; if anybody else is down there tomorrow please stop by and say hello.

Claudia, try caster (double or even treble) on the inside, that usually finds the better "silvers" and sometimes avoids the smaller Perch. Various pastes work well as do smaller softer pellets. But you'll also hit the Carp on the same line so be prepared for anything!

David, Gold can be different from Syndicate. If on the Canal Bank, there's not so much depth close inside. The Causeway bank is more like Syndicate. Carp are generally bigger in Gold but still plenty of smaller as well.

"Chavs look like they are in for a bit of a hammering."

So you've heard then Ray? Yes unfortunately it's true; I am no longer able to fish as something has come up that I am unable to change. I am absolutely gutted as I was really looking forward to the get togetherand showing the 'has beens' the way!

Neil, please accept my sincere apologies as I appreciate all the effort that you have put in to organising the event. I have sent you an email.

Good luck everyone and have a great day. Ray - I'm sure the Chavs will still win without me (I was all mouth anyway and would probably of blanked/forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif).

Tight lines

Nippi, No insult intended but, you must know the old saying:-

"better to to a has been, that a never has been", perhaps like yourself.

It's the last bit that might be taken as an insult, particularly as I have never met you.

What's all this nonsense about blanking in the chav team? THE CHAVS DON'T BLANK!!!!!

Not at GV anyway (",)

Sorry you can't make it Nippi, going to be tough going without you but we will try our best to win the match.
