BIG PERCH Challenge 2016/17...

I'm out river perching tomorrow, not though I have any expectation of a fish anywhere big enough to frame in the challenge.

I did manage to dig a few lobs this afternoon to go with the half kilo of dendras and last week's old maggots for feed to draw the bait fish in.

You just never know though, I doubt many go out with the expectation of a 4lb fish

Either way I shall enjoy being out on a nice, mild day.

I'm doing exactly the same thing tomorrow. Fishing a small still water with some reasonable perch for its size, but nothing over 3lb or so as far as I'm aware....My tactics are pretty much the same as Binka's with lobs the main course, although bunches of maggots over a bed of the same have done quite well.

As I'm setting my stool out for this species I fully expect to fail miserably and end up with at least a dozen good roach instead.............that I should be so lucky!
