Custom rods

I finally ordered my custom rod which was delivered to me in October. I had forgotten to give details.
It’s a Torrix 2lb tc 12’ with an Alps reel seat and Kigan rings. It will be given a thorough testing next year and hopefully for some barbel.

You've got the same rod and reel as I have there, Mike, save for the futuristic reel seat. Ideal for barbel and margin carp. I bought the reel after seeing Clive's video from way back.

I’m looking forward to meeting up and giving both rod and pin a try. I too saw the piece by Clive and your recommendation was good enough for me so when I came across a mint example on eBay I couldn’t resist.

The rod builder was Dave Bone of Ross on Wye and he was excellent throughout. I had planned to go and collect the rod and take up Dave’s offer to try it out for barbel on the Wye but conditions were against us. The rod is beautifully built to my specifications but taking on board Dave’s recommendations.

I still have two Trents. One on the pike / catfish rod and one on the carp float rod. The barbel don't run big enough to warrant it out here.
