A new one on me! I think I will save up for another Stradic :)

Have you checked out the new 2019 Stradic Mike?

Save up??? He says sitting in the Mediterranean sun sipping an ice cold beer.:)

I'm a pensioner John like you. I'll have a look.

What are the main differences does anyone know?

I haven't missed an updated version of the C14 fa ( rear drag model) with fighting drag then? That is the only model I'm interested in.

Cheers John. I just happen to like the c14 ra 4000 above all my reels. I would buy the 2500 size next when the price is right.

Shimano offer a bewildering array of reels albeit many are for the US market. I see their baitcasters have a digital drag which unlocks under strong acceleration ie when you cast but which applies braking as the acceleration decreases ie as the bait hits the water. Now that might just be the feature I need on my baitcaster. I have never mastered it completely.

Olive Polar Jacket – Wofte Clothing

Just got one of these for the coming winter. I have one of their lighter jackets & that is good quality & fit so for £50 went for this & it didnt dissapoint.

Matches my Aldi Salopettes (I did get the Aldi jacket but it was shockinginly bad in all departments & sent it back)

With a good body warmer underneath I think its job done for the winter. On that note I looked at a high end body warmer - North Face - & they are coming in at £100 + and some - not a bargain !

Need to add - its not restrictive when raising your arms that I have found in the past with other jackets.

A bit more tat for my collection. The big picture was £3 and the small one £4, irresistible but I wish I could walk past it sometimes..

3 books, the Lonsdale Library “Trout fishing from all angles” old book £5. “How to catch them” Pike by AL Ward” £2. Interesting this, series of 28 books, I wouldn’t mind trying to collect the lot, printed in 1954. Names include Vernon Bates artificial flies-Donald Stone barbel- Alan Young bass-Peter Tomlinson bream, L Baverstock brook trout-D L Stuart carp-Frank Oats coarse fishing baits - and many more; must have been top anglers in thier day, I only recognize 2 names.
And for the birdys “The complete illustrated Thornburn’s Birds” £20. I have the smaller volume of this but this is better, the finest Victorian bird painter/illustrator of all I think. His original paintings sell for thousands. I have always loved his stuff. A good £27 spent.
