Breakfast 7am Premier Inn,, Yum Yum Yum.

I do hope so for your sake Clarkey. Opening up early doors of a Sunday on the off chance of flogging a few breakfasts to wandering hairy ar$ed anglers doesn't sound like much of a business plan to me.

Looks like "Noah" has done for us again ! Why do we keep asking him ? :D

Have fun. I look forward to the anticipated tales of weather woes. Hopefully, there'll be some fish to keep you all interested.

Can I order a whopper please.

Don't worry, I'm sure there will be more than a few whoppers tomorrow .

Just wish I'd had my camera with me when I caught that 6lb grayling last year :D :wh

Anyway, aiming, with luck, (and assuming my failing offside track rod holds up, which I should really be changing tomorrow instead of fishing, but am putting off til Monday ;)) to be with you all about 8.30 / 8.45 or thereabouts after grabbing some bait from Apollo Angling at Marsh Farm two seconds after they open at 7.30. Or whenever I finally crawl out of my pit :eek:mg:

Then it's off to rig up my beachcaster and ten ounce plutonium enriched uranium lead in anticipation of any ginger headed canoeist trying to exercise his supposed GRN in my swim .

I think a bit of rain but overall a reasonable day with nice low light levels, a bit of colour in the water, and mild............No excuses for not catching, then !!

What are the chances of someone forgetting rods or hooks, or even bait - pretty good in all the excitement I'd say !!

Hope it's a great day for all of you. I 'd say the organiser deserve a big pat on the back !!!

Enjoy..

ps I can see all wives of those involved saying "Thank gawd he's gone for the day"

Bit wet!

Finished with about 24 grayling to about 1.8 plus 2 chub to about 3.8 plus a dozen trout to about 5lb. A salmon of about 16lb was on for 20 secs untill it leaped out and winked at me. Big coloured fellow.

I was trying all day to catch a decent roach but none graced the net (well half a net as snapped the carbon lifting in a spottie in the first hour)

Great to see so many of the FM famous faces and duffers.

Well done the organisers. Thank you.

Top day out again.. Neil1970 and I set off at 6:30 and arrived at 7:45. It was raining but the river looked sock on. Still a fair amount of weed in most swims but pushing nicely, perfect for trotting Avons and big stickfloats.
I believe everyone caught some nice grayling amongst the salmon parr, trout etc. All in all a perfect days fishing among friends topped by meeting chav professor and aebitim for the first time. Not forgetting Tims daughter who gave us a masterclass demonstration on the stick float........

A bit wet ? I've fallen in and been drier !

Yes...apart from the early start, the drive, the walk, the rain, the traditional abuse from Clarke and the horror that is a bait apron full of wet maggot a thoroughly enjoyable day....oh,did I mention the rain ?

Fishing wise a fairly average day for me. I had roughly 150 grayling with 30 or so being 2lb+...the best 3lb 12oz....35 chub to 8lb,7 barbel to 19lb,a 24lb carp, 6 salmon and a 3lb 9oz roach. No flounders though...gutted.

I didn't weigh any of the perch btw. Nothing over 6lb.

A really great day out and good to meet up with many familiar faces again, and a few new ones, - in fact a couple are so familiar I thought I was back on the Colne for a minute....loads of grayling (mainly between the pound/pound and a half bracket) the obligatory spotted roach/s, a couple of parr and a tourist that didn’t quite make the net...........

Its that all you got Windy 10 ounces :D

Firstly a big thanks to Jerry for arranging the day, cheers mate. Good to see some new faces, and the others i have met before.

Well didn't have such a bad day, but have had better.

2 chub neither over 3lb, 15 Grayling, and i lost count of those bloody trout.

The river looked in good shape, but couldn't find any Roach. Plenty of weed, but it was to wet to smoke :eek:.

Met up with Skippy and Big Phil for breakfast.

Windy left early, not sure if he had anything trotting with his beach caster and 10 ounce lead ;)

Weather wasn't that bad, but would have helped if it had held off until we had started fishing. All in all enjoyable day.

That was until I hit the traffic on the M3, and M25. 2 hours to get home and its only 102 miles from my house

Abuse ?? what Abuse FFS :):).

We had a 5 minute walk, that took almost 20, as Skippy kept stopping at every swim. That looks good, that ones not bad. I haven't seen an Otter look as wet as Skippy by the time he found a swim.

I thought you had 152 Grayling ??

Those two 19lb Barbel didn't look that big once you took the Magnify Glass away. Well the truth is they looked like Gudgeon :)

Good to meet up again, a day on the Thames is long over due Skippy.

Hi Skippy.... No stealth watch, no shorts, no feathery floats - I really have let my image slide!!!

3 chub... 3lb15oz, 4lb8oz and 2lb11oz.....

Having spent one night in the car... a second night surrounded by muddy wet gear - I cut my losses for a warm bed and a warm wife.

I'll PM you the secret of 'Posh' cheese paste ;)
