Does anyone remember the story in the national news about the lions kept in appalling conditions in a Romanian zoo. Many in the same small filthy cages and abandoned. They were rescued by the Yorkshire Wildlife folk and brought to their premises near Doncaster.

Well here is one of them enjoying grass for the first time in its life.

One of my banker swims, not pretty but nearly always catch something there, especial chub in the winter, had 9 one afternoon, they don't go big in this river, average about 2lb, 4lb+ a very good fish, I have managed 3lb 14oz which is typical but still a favorite swim.

Nice swim! Btw, I haven't seen ferrules like that for a while, Mark! It's not Spanish Reed, is it?
