Fishery: River Medway @ East Yalding
Time fished: 0830 till 1600
Weather: Very overcast, very cold wind
Water: very cold, current changing with the opening of the gates about every two hours.
Method: floated maggot/corn, trotted maggot/corn, swim feebers. Ground bait and hemp used to feed.
Results: Three of us all blanked, not even a bite. I stood on the bank watching a perch swiming around below my feet before we even set up which gave me a positive feeling, how wrong. Any river tips for this weather would be much appreciated.

been informed that birchmere lake in thamesmead, SE london is fishing well for pike,so much that anglers are having major probs landing any other spiecies, well whats left of them.
This is a club /day ticket water of several acres and depths averaging 4 ft.
I highly rate this water for carp tench and bream in summer and pike and bream in winter.
The rules are very strict, very strong pike tackle is a must ,as is a large unhooking matt and forceps, pliers etc.
Day tickets are ?5.00 a rod.
Be prepared, there are some very big double figure pike 20lb plus.
