Why is it a shame Mike?

It seems to be the way for many of these mini bespoke cottage industries, no overheads and word gets round fast.

I've just ordered some Cheburashka Tungsten weights from a guy who only uses FB, half the price of many of the online retailers.

I don't do FB John and will not open an account just to buy something!

What and how are those weights used for John?

This short video will go some way to explaining one of several rigs lure anglers are now using.

YouTube

I've had far too many blanks over the last few weeks, weather awful, rivers in poor condition, however there are fish to be caught and it does sort out the better angler from novices like me.

Much of my problem has been with presentation and putting the lure in the right place, different style weights placed on different parts of the lure create different movement, schoolboy error on my part, fishing too high in the water most probably, so my next few trips will be getting the bait on the deck and see if those stripeys can refuse this!

Account not required Mike, most of FB you can peruse at your leisure, there are some groups that require joining but that's normallyjust a click of a button away. My local club (CDAA) has over 2000 members and its Facebook where they share information, catches etc. I was a reluctant convert but I'm afraid it's the popular platform nowadays. Some good bargains to be had too, the Daiwa Harrier whip I picked up at a great price came from an angler on FB.

I regularly look on the bay for" bargains" and have had a few which I am very happy with! I will now make one offer and if unsuccessful I leave it! The prices some people pay is silly in my book particularly for reels and some rods.

I made a bid for a Korum GB bowl and hoop which I knew I didn't really need or may not use very often but at a fiver plus postage, well why not. It was new and unused from a private seller, which tells a tale. It sold for fifteen plus three pounds fifty postage totalling eighteen pounds fifty. My iPad is stuck on lower case letters and will not display numerals:) A new one from a recognised retailer with a warranty was available for twenty two! I know which I would have bought!

Maybe a new iPad beckons! As I type the rest of the keyboard has sprung back to life! I must threaten it again like that when it misbehaves!:j:thumbs:

Poundland 20 pieces eggs and bunnies. Two rabbits of no piscatorial value, 18 assorted pike-float bodies of three sizes, £1.

And, technology be praised, I finally managed to post a pic by myself with no tears and very little blaspheming. Wow!

I recently got my hands on a now discontinued Spro Microcast 1000 reel for the princely sum of £35, a lovely little reel, one disadvantage though, it doesn't come with a spare spool.

Just put that right having found another spool which comes with a free reel for £25.:)

Might keep this one for a spot of saltwater fishing this Summer. It's currently being despatched by Royal Mail, hope they don't lose this in the snow as they did my Cygnet clips.

Would you Adam and Eve it, no sooner had I finished writing the above post when the postie rang the doorbell with my latest acquisition, only posted yesterday afternoon. Not only a cheap reel but the seller kindly threw in some freebie lures too.

Well done John! I tried to buy one but couldn't find one ! The new addiction model is available though! Yours looks a nice reel! I bought a Korum speed reel instead and matching rod!
