Bought the rod rest and fleece zipper from Lidl, fleece zipper in a medium is a bit large on me but will be fine with a jumper on under it

Tronic Power Bank https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/p50525?productId=50525&countryCode=GB
Bought one of these the other day, as the one I’ve been using on my heated waistcoat is only lasting about six hours if I’m lucky, so I connected it to my waistcoat this morning at 09 45am and it’s still going strong after 9 and a 1/2 hrs, on medium power which is the setting I use. So this should do a days fishing with no problems.

My tackle shop always has a couple of boxes of old stuff hidden away on the floor, usually 50p or 25p written on the side, I always have a rummage but as there was no price I asked how much the items were. The bloke just said pick out what you want and I will tell you how much. I picked out a few bits and asked how much then, expecting around 3 or 5 quid he said a quid. You don't get service like that on the internet! The hook packets are not all full and the float needs a paint job and I am not sure there is 100yds of line but not far off I think. But for a quid I am not complaining.

Aldi’s fishing gear is in this Thursday, just had a look on there app, it’s mainly clothing, wellingtons, and a hold-all.

Angling Direct have Advanta reels in stock .
I bought one yesterday mainly as spare/back up feeder reel and baggin waggler reel, it is the Advanta 50. Front drag , decent bail arm , anti reverse ,spins well with no spool wobble , spare graphite spool, holds 175 yards of 6lb line, and obviously less of greater breaking strains, I had a play with it after toying with the idea of the Daiwa N'Zion 25 feeder reel,
Decided to buy it along with an 8 metre Drennan Acolyte whip, which was cheaper than local shop when they have them in stock .
I was pleasantly surprised when the reel price scanned at just under £23 .
All I have to do now is load it with line and give it a try out .

I have just ordered the bib and brace. I have the jacket and the trousers and both are excellent and good value although more expensive than last year but then isn't everything.

Where did you order that. Mike?

I looked on their website, but only found some children's salopettes in pink, and I'm guessing you didn't get those.

I have a good bib and brace, but sadly the zip doesn't come down low enough. You'd have to have porn star dimensions to get up and over to take a leak, so you have to take off any top you have on and drop down the shoulder straps, all a bit of a nuisance.

From the Aldi site directly (£29.95) look up special buys for today. Try this link Kev

The jackets are great as are the trousers.
Did you order a size up Mike, ?;
I found the jacket and bib n brace a little to snug in the size I usually get , Just wanted a cheap pair .
In the end decided to keep DF12 and bought the DF30.
I know a few who have the Aldi outfit and they reckon they are good .
The soft touch jackets are good as well

Went to the local tackle shop in search of dolly butts to fit my pole , a Daiwa G50
Purchased a couple of Drennan Acolyte dolly butts that are a perfect fit, £20 each.
Daiwa dolly butts are over £50 each.

What on earth is a dolly butt and why does your pole not have one as standard if they are necessary .
