You keep thing that, but 1-5 doesn't agree with you, nor does 16 ... Guess your stuffed as a thief!

Crow ,crow, crow, some roosters think there the king of the farmyard, all that strutting about, pity they all end up in the same place, you know your silly antics really don't bother me sticks and stones and all that you know, I guested, I caught, I went home. enjoyed every minute of every time I guested, although it was some years ago I seem to be getting a second helping of enjoyment from it now.

Hilarious :D:D:D:D:D:D

Yes I know I said I wouldn't post on this thread again but couldn't resist it.

EEs killing fish are but one problem that angling faces, it wont stop the authorities don't care, the public don't care, there are even some anglers that don't care. Make the most of what we have now, I dread to think what it will be like in 25 years time.

Bt the way I have changed my avatar, it's me and the boys hanging around, note the yellow beaks, all our family have them :)

Quite a number of pike , on the canal local to me , have been destroyed by Brits either in the , mistaken , belief that this "protects" the other fish or frankly to eat them.

So for all your deliberately flowery rhetoric ( nice one ! ) you are much more style over substance.

Thanks Benny! Poached Pike?
Yea... so its the Brits fault for what the EE does to the Pike, because a mistake is on par with a deliberate want to steal fish, hmmmm. lead by example and all that?
One of my "local rivers" has been near completely emptied of Pike (only a few large females being reported now) all taken by illegals, mainly from the weirpools, would seem its just not on the local menu anymore or just "quite a number" (how many would that be Benny?) but a nation wide and well documented phenomenon (not confined to just the Pike species or locally either), maybe its simply a bit of unwarranted "british" paranoia found only on fishing forums.

Perhaps we would all be happier (to the point where the EE's fishing tactic is a figment of our imagination) if the Brits didn't kill the Pike "mistakenly" (to eat or protect) and instead gave them straight to the illegals, on the bank fresh (with butter and a Parsley garnish) just so those EE's won't make the equally big mistake of getting caught, emptying our rivers at our (and the fish's ultimate) expense, just imagine the inconvenience to one of those "baliff" type people at 4am on a thursday night, on call.

Why do so many people endorse the "enforcing the law" angle? When the over whelming example continues to show that the parties are not interested in fish in the rivers (or lakes and ponds etc).

Why continue to give valuable water to a dead tree that will not produce any good fruit?

oh ..but wait...... hang on.....

"The EA unveils its new plans to stop illegal fishing practices, by employing EE's to look after British waterways, while the Brits mistakenly foot the bill" The highbrow propaganda pamphlet

When will the angling/fishing laws be the same across the EU? They have not got round to it yet but, it would solve the problem of any EE member not knowing the angling regulations if they are the same everywhere. However, by then it may be a forgotten problem as all angling would have been banned. I suspect it will happen when we become region B38 of the European State, the official language will be a bastized version of French and German, Farage will be pushing up daisies, U-kipped will be a distant quaint memory if all reference to it has not been banned and St George wont be turning in his grave; it would have been dug up and a EU center/car-park put in its place.....

How do you do that ? Get two or three lads together to walk the banks and then throw people in ? You are allowed to take some fish , from certain places , by law. You are also in turn committing a crime yourselves.

One of the lakes I have fished in th past is in the middle of a notorious estate and they won't hesitate to sort you out in this manner , but it takes a lot of coordination and night patrols so far they have managed to keep their fish safe but at a lot of effort and the occasional kicking for some innocent guy.

Or.....

What about teaching these poor EE's how to fish "legally", we could all put some money in a kitty, and throw a few weeks of time at these confused individuals, perhaps call it the "fishing4ALL poaching rehabilitation Scheme" ween them off the powerfully addictive substance found belly up in the net (a bit like speedy Brits taking a re test instead of having the points on their driving licenses).
The taxpayer will obviously subsidize some nice new carbon fishing rods, get some "trained" professionals to give them a guide of the rivers, Bob Nudd? Teach them a bit of water craft (show em where to find the last few adult fish) and magically they will automatically assimilate to British values in fishing. Before you know it they will definitely all have licenses in their back pockets, a sarnie box in the ruck sack and a copy of the Angling Times ready at hand.

I can't say I'd volunteer my neck of the woods , its a thankless job with health risks, besides your relying on the EA and the hobby bobby to show up, unless its a big sting I doubt much will happen. Part of the reason people get more going from making a call about a pollution scare as there will be money on the table inside the house of blame culture.

Joking aside, if these EE folk are that hard up or desperate to net these solid gold fish they want to eat out of our recovering rivers, it shows they simply haven't figured out yet the better ways to obtain better, more nutritious food and procure it much easier for free (in a way which causes less harm and loss to their hosts, without using such a disrespectful & greedy approach, not to mention dangerous)......especially considering what this country offers them.
Assuming they genuinely are poaching purely for sustenance then there lies the answer.

I can't put what I really think on this thread or the PC brigade would want me banned from this site. Needless to say all of my fishing friends are like minded. It really is a problem in our area. Added to the problems caused by otters and cormorants I am not sure about the future of our sport. Just wait until they start building loads more houses for the EE hordes coming in and see what abstraction does to the rivers. The effect may be as bad as the loss of the fish stocks they are thieving.
I count myself very lucky to have enjoyed some great fishing before any of these problems started to take effect.
Unfortunately there are more non-anglers than anglers and there is no real reason for them to be concerned about any of these issues.
I just hope for a few more years fishing before everything is decimated.

Absolutely spot on my friend. I have written almost the exact same words on other forums. You have nailed it 100%.

Why can't you say what you want ? I am the PC Brigade and I say what I want - within the boundaries of the law and my own good taste of course.

I think you can believe in Political Correctness i.e. a society which gives everyone the same chance and still believe in a strong and rigorous Police Force and Judiciary.
I'd be more than happy if anyone stealing and eating fish were prosecuted but there have been so many cutbacks and restrictions placed on our Police that I wouldn't want that done at the expense of the much more serious crime that's becoming rife in this Country at the moment.

If you believe in equality and freedom then that should be extended to everyone including and especially the little old lady that's frightened to leave the house for fear of becoming a victim. A strong Law and Order system with real deterrents leads to greater freedom for everyone.

Also if education and communication make any reduction its a much cheaper route than diverting expensive Police resources.

Just catching up on a few posts after going away to the Lake District for a few days......and saw this post of yours Benny....very interesting...if only Political Correctness was a fraction of what you say it is...I would support it all the way.

However, I had to chuckle after reading your very first sentence..." a society which gives everyone the same chance".......

A pal of a pal of mine applied for a job on the Council of his home town a few weeks ago and apparently on his application form it read..."FOR THIS POSITION IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK HURDU"....(or very, very similar words to that effect)

....correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't that have read..."MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK ENGLISH"?

Political Correctness is deadly serious in its aims, seeking to impose a uniformity of thought and behavior on all with little or no compromise. Subscribe to the Frankfurt school curriculum at your peril.

By removing certain words from the English language ( remember languages evolve all the time ) those of us in the PCmovement simply aim to create a society freed from the colonial terrors of our past.
