For those who want a good freespool reel, Tackle fanatics have an offer on Diawa 4500 br reels at the moment, namely £44.99 plus £4.95 postage.

A bargain at £50 in my book!:)

While dacronectors are all the rage these days many anglers like myself still prefer the plastic elastic connectors. Chapman's angling are selling their own Stillwater brand connectors for 20p! I think that may even be 20p for a pack of 2! I just ordered 16 with delivery for a fiver!!!:w

Have you actually used those Kev? Reason I ask is that I bought some cheap ones a few years ago and they where useless. If these ones are good then they're a good buy!

I haven't yet used them,so you've made me wonder. I just put a couple on a piece of line, and they seem to slide and grip like the ones I usually use.

Funnily enough, the one thing I don't use them for is as sliding float stops, where I prefer to tie stops with a bit of line - goes through the rings much more smoothly.

They are handy, though, above the lead'feeder for a bit of bolt effect, against a knot as a stopper, to hold a sliding link for a bomb......Also, they're ok on a slider if the depth is say 10 -12'. as the stop never has to go through the rings.

Cyprinus /ebay- tacklediscount auctions??
Anyone else trying for any gear from their 99p auctions? Reason I ask is, 6 times i've been beaten trying to bid/buy a bedchair. And I'm talking last second sniping in on said item.
My wife thinks I'm bidding against robots. I have a feeling she may be right.

I know the feeling I gave with these you have no chance of winning. Bit like a mock auction.

It's probably an Auction Sniper app you are trying to compete with. Google the words, get a free trial and do it yourself. If it's important, I use one.

TFG "Banshee" coolbag.
Anyone needing one check out go outdoors or Angling direct as they are both offering them for £9-99.
Reduced from £15-99 and £19 respectively.
Squired mine on the bank today from a friend who picked it up for me yesterday.
A good well made item, going to prove very useful winter or summer !!!

Just bought some CDs from MAGPIEMUSIC.
Checked for quality used items with each one less than £3 including postage.

In original cases.

Duplicates of some of the old vinyl records stuffed in the loft!
They play OK. No problems especially at those prices.

John, I thought CD's were a revolution (pun intended) compared to vinyl when they first came out, I mean who could ever have thought vinyl would ever be replaced or bettered? Perhaps with the exception of magnetic tape, I think its fair to say we all thought vinyl was here to stay > 78's (shellac) > 33 1⁄3 and > 45's.
Then increased capacity became the de facto standard in the digital age, giving rise to the CD, DVD and SSD's such as memory cards and solid state drives.
I wonder what what storage medium will be the next big thing?

CD's & DVD's are Temporary Storage devices not good at long term storage at all and show them a bit of sun Ha .

They also lack Audio depth , Vinyl is making a comeback ( it never really went away ) Spent many many hours spinning discs keeping dance floors full .
