Couple of location marks with a permanent marker, make it easier to line the lid up correctly,
And it’s bound to get easier with use, enjoy.

I know this is not exactly what the thread is about but just thought it worth reminding that junk come second hand come charity shops are worth looking over. I got a small Shakespeare Atlantis Multiplier in the box with parts instructions and the small spanner (not often they come like that) for £5. Loaded with line which I will change but always worth having for backing, slightly pitted side faces but an excellent small multiplier in good condition with all the drags etc. A bargain.

I second the benefits of charity shop bargains. I’m a regular in the many we have in Whitstable, picked up some brilliant bargains, best being a Country Innovations coat that retails at £165, got it for a fiver!

Great bargain John! My charity shops never have anything worth buying but then Gucci and Armani don't do fishing gear:rolleyes:

It is a super coat and a great bargain too, fits a treat.

Strangely it was in almost perfect condition, like it had never been worn but only after a couple of trips the zip needed replacing, cost more than the coat! It was only when looking up the maker that I found its rrp. Charity shops normally put a premium on quality or popular brands, they obviously missed this one.

Picked on of these up in Lidl yesterday, just tried it out it holds about a pint, liquidised both bread and frozen sweetcorn perfectly.

Tried some two mm pellets it turned them in crumb and powder, just right for PVA bags etc, not bad for just under a tenner.

Also picked a cable tidy up in Homebase , will keep the rope for my weedrake nice and tidy.
Yep cheers

Just managed to grab the last one in the shop today works well

I give a lot of tackle to a local charity shop, the last lot they had included a couple of Browning Ghost poles which were brand new, a few rods and a fly reel, also had reels holdalls, carryalls, keepnets, as long as they are reasonably clean they will accept the luggage, I give them an idea on what to ask for the items so that they don't get ripped off, a few friends now give me their unwanted tackle to pass on to them, It is never in the shop more than a couple of days before it is sold, I did try at one time to give it away to junior anglers via my clubs forum, I had one or two takers saying they would have it for their son/daughter, but when i tell them to turn up with said son/daughter,i never hear from them again, So if you have a clear out, give it to your local charity shop they will be grateful,

Chapmans have a sale on. Waggler, feeder and stalking rods for an unbelievable £7 to £10.
I doubt they are top notch (understament:D) but they may be ideal to start any nippers off on the road to angling.

Heads up for Total Tackle Ltd. Excellent service from them.

Yodel claimed my jacket..see above....had been delivered and signed for. Rubbish of course.

Total F T were prepared to take my word and send a new one.

However a chap half a mile away phoned to say he had got it.
Different address and PCode than on parcel!

Yodel are useless.

I've wanted to try a cheap whip for a while. Found this:

Leeda 5m Tele Whip 5m – Chapmans Angling

Ordered one as at that price, not a big issue if it's rubbish.

Edit - Just seen John Step's recommendation for the Chapman sale above - it is really well worth a visit!

Dave. I can only tell you that xl is perfect for a 6ft 14stone guy. That allows for thin fleece under. If they have large you could be ok if 5.8 and 12st ish

Thanks Graham. Sounds like they come up small then. I'm 5' 7" and about 10 1/2 stone. I spoke to them and they couldnt tell me anything about the sizing, so i ordered a small and I'll return it if its too tight. I saw the medium is 121cm chest on The Tackle Box site but no info on the small.
