I'll ask again, do you make these floats for sale. If so, can I see a price list or similar?

Mike is aware that this is not a retail site and therefore doesn't trade. Can I suggest that such questions be limited to a PM;)

Sounds like a plan. We'll definitely get something organised for the early summer.

There's two things in particular I'm aiming for this summer on the rivers.

First is to try and get me a Roach over 2lb, and secondly I'd love to catch a decent sized summer Chevin (over 4lb).

Ok mate, yep sounds like a plan, the 2 lb roach maybe a little tricky, it's basically fishing the right stretch of river that actually sustains them , could try a Stillwater but to me it ain't the same as a big river roach :D

The 4 lb chub sounds should be easy enough as the waters that I fish they go upto 6-7 lb

Speak soon,

After finishing my 1st float, I would like to make some more but how do people make them, do you all turn them on lathes or is there something I've missed?
To make the body of mine I wedged it in a drill bit and sanded it down (drill on slowest speed) with some 60 grit paper then 180, then some fine wet and dry. It ended up slightly uneven but usable.

I started off with a homemade lathe drill. I then got a mimni lathe and finally a large multi speed lathe.

I can recommend a mini lathe for personal use. :)

PEANUTS FISHING ADVENTURES - THE RIVER IRWELL AND BEYOND.: " The Irwell Stick " My Favourite Float of All

" The Irwell Stick "

I have caught more fish on this float than any other !!!!!!

This is a simple looking float but probably the most versatile float I use.

For more pics and fish captures using this float hit the blog link above.

Your 'sneaky lifter' floats almost identical to some I picked up in South Korea back in the 1980's ......

Someone gave me one of those; I rather fancied it'd make a good crucian float. When I looked them up on Ebay I also found some very similar floats on which the alternate bands (plus tip) are illuminated. They look like brilliant cheap night floats, although it might be necessary to paint the bands out, just leaving the tip lit up.

Purplepeanut007: your floats are magnificent to look at and I am sure they work well but ........ I am sure it's just me but why bother? My hastily knocked up floats work fine with so little effort, the fish certainly would not be able to tell the difference. I must be missing something?
